New Consolidated Rental Building
Working closely with the three individual car rental companies — Budget, National and Dollar Rent-A-Car — and the Port Authority, Graf & Lewent developed the design for this new building to provide equivalent "tenant” areas for each of the rental companies, while providing direct access and visibility from the new JFK AirTrain station.

The building is approximately 8,000 square feet, and features a floor to ceiling butt-glazed (mullionless) curtain wall at the entrance façade, to help orient approaching travelers and provide a bright, inviting appearance to the building. At the remaining areas of the façade, the lower portion is clad with a warm-toned silver Alucobond panel system. The upper areas are enclosed with a charcoal gray horizontal ribbed metal panel system. The interiors for the three rental companies are each finished with unique features, tying into the individual company’s corporate themes. The interiors feature unique wall color selections, floor tile color and pattern, lighting, etc.

Cost considerations were balanced with aesthetic and functional considerations in all aspects of the project design.
