New York University Steinhardt School
Applied Psychology Department
Graf & Lewent Architects was retained by NYU's Steinhardt School to design the relocation of the Applied Psychology Department to five floors in their Kimball Hall Building. Graf & Lewent developed a detailed space program based on interviews with the key faculty in the department. This was followed by the development of block diagrams to test the “fit” of the program in the new space. Graf & Lewent then carried out the project through construction.

The facilities for Applied Psychology included Faculty Offices, Classrooms, Seminar Rooms, Lab Spaces and Psychological Experiment Facilities, including Interview Rooms and Focus Group Rooms. The Interview and Focus Group Rooms were equipped with state of the art video and audio recording systems, all of which were tied into to the Classrooms and Seminar Rooms for student observation and instruction. The project included approximately 20,000 square feet.
