Con Edison, Building #6 Roof Replacement

Astoria, New York

This project was one of three roof ing projects awarded to Graf & Lewent Architects in the same year by Con Edison. All three buildings used a Carlisle EPDM fleece back system. Typically, it was installed over a ½ inch overlayment board which sat on top of the new tapered insulation. As part of the reroof ing projects, the roof drainage was reviewed, and the drains were replaced back to the f irst piping elbow. Sometimes new drains were also installed, or the locations shifted for better drainage. Building #36 shown above in Astoria was the largest and contained 330,000 square feet. Based on the budget, the project was completed in three phases and f iled as three separate projects at the Building Department.
