Center for Student Life

New York University, New York, NY

Project size : 11,000 SF

Graf & Lewent was responsible for the renovation of an 11,000 square foot floor at NYU’s Kimmel Center for Student Life. A key project goal was to combine two Student Affairs departments to create a consolidated facility – The Center for Student Life – to support numerous student organizations and related activities. The project included the creation of multiple Group Rooms, a large multi-purpose Conference Room, new Staff Offices and informal Lounge, Study and Meeting areas. Graf & Lewent led a critical pre-design phase, including stakeholder interviews, programming, and multiple test fits, to insure that the final facility optimized the use of the space and addressed the needs of the many stakeholders. The project faced critical budget and schedule goals that were achieved by Graf & Lewent’s collaboration with NYU Construction Management and Student Affairs.
