NYU’s Liberal Studies program had outgrown the 10,000 square foot space it had occupied for about 10 years. NYU retained Graf & Lewent to redesign the floor to allow Liberal Studies to occupy the full 20,000 square foot floor. The targeted renovations included a new Student Lounge and a Video Conferencing Center, as well as new faculty offices and a Training Room. The Student Lounge needed to be inviting and flexible to encourage students to visit and interact with the faculty. The Video Conference Room was one of the first to be constructed under NYU’s global initiative, and involved detailed coordination with NYU’s technology leaders. The project was constructed over the summer break and was completed on time and within budget.
