SUNY retained Graf & Lewent to program and design their new Police Facility for the College of Old Westbury. The project contains approximately 4,500 square feet on a wooded site on the campus adjacent to an existing parking lot. The building is being designed to exceed energy standards by 20% and the orientation of the building and use of materials were selected to enhance that effort.

The building will contain a Command Room with video surveillance capabilities for the campus and the centralized fire alarms operations for all the campus buildings. Because of the critical nature of these functions, the Command Room will be on a UPS system and the entire building will be on an emergency generator.
