Westchester County Clerk’s Office Renovation

Westchester County Department of Public Works retained Graf & Lewent to design the complete renovation of the County Clerk’s offices in White Plains.  The project includes approximately 30,000 square feet.  Since the County Clerk operation includes seven different departments and involves access by the public, an intensive, detailed programming effort was required. Graf & Lewent met with representatives of each of the departments and developed a program to incorporate the current and future needs.

The goals of the project include not only satisfying the functional needs of the County Clerk, but also to integrate new technology for the workers, greatly improve public convenience, and to create comfortable and appealing public spaces.  All-new HVAC, fire protection and electrical systems will be provided.  Since the facility cannot shut down during construction, the project design included detailed phasing plans.  The project is to be designed in accordance with Westchester County sustainable design initiatives, and is scheduled for construction in 2021.
